My final project is over! 🙂 The game is available on itch : https://e13-studio.itch.io/the-curse-of-the-cursor If you want to get spoiled you can watch the full walkthrough below.
The first test session took place last week. I would like to thank the participants. Thanks to them, the prototype could be greatly improved in the days that followed. Especially with regard to the Flat 2D view which went from a sphere to a cube.
UI prototype is over I continued to work on the different UI levels of the project. As of now, the canvas can be changed using buttons or controller triggers, as you can see on the intro UI in the video. The game itself now has its three levels of UI: Game UI, Pause Menu UI,…Continue Reading “Prototype ver. 0.1.1”
Multiple scenes and UI work The new version of the prototype is here! I worked on multiple scenes, the intro and the game scenes. But my main work was on the UI. For the introduction, I used the Curve UI plugin, which I’ll also be using for my 2D view in the game. It works…Continue Reading “Prototype ver. 0.1.0”
November 15th – Project progress Maya I ask myself the questions that is in the title … Should I work with 3-edged or 4-edged faces or both? And should all vertexes be aligned or not? After some testing, I chose the left tree (photo below), the trunk has 4-edged faces and the foliage has 3-edged…Continue Reading “3 or 4-edged face? Aligned vertexes?”
Here is the version 0.0.1 of my project 😉 Not so much yet, but the goal was to test the Oculus Quest 2 and the Windows / Mac / OculusLink I talk about here. It works! Now, I can really start my project 🙂
First of all, let me apologize for not posting in recent weeks. This period is very complicated with all this covid situation, but I will be more active until January before doing my next Master module, Digital Playground for Online People. Anyway, let’s talk about the project. In the last few days, after some research…Continue Reading “Modeling begins…”
My first Unity prototype is ready. The goal was to test if I had the knowledge to create a simple interactive 2D experience based on a 3D world. As you can see from the video below, a two-dimensional view is created live (on a UI Canvas) based on the movements and view changes of the…Continue Reading “Unity : first prototype”
While developing my first Unity prototype – which I will present in the next few days on this blog – I came across the problem of scales and distances. I had to change the scale of my two-dimensional objects based on their distance from the camera (the player). I know it depends on the lens…Continue Reading “Trigonometry vs Luminance”
A Strange Feeling It feels very strange to see the Windows menu and desktop on my MacBook Pro. As I will develop my project for Oculus Quest, I will test the use of Oculus Link on my MacBookPro/Windows. If it works, I can preview what I create in Unity directly in my VR headset without…Continue Reading “Windows on my Mac”
Course Game Design Studio Lecturer Dr Andrew Connor Date Winter 2020 The Project This project was to make an interactive experience / game based on the novels of Fedran. Course Design for Interactive Media Lecturer Dr Julian Rawlinson Date Fall 2019 The Project This project takes place in the same post-apocalyptic world as the Biomimicry New Nurrency project. We were asked to create an interactive experience that presents an exhibition of artefacts found in this futuristic world. I chose to work with poorly interpreted…Continue Reading “Fringe Artefacts”
